Hi Gretchen,

Just outside Ajaccio, you’ll find a succession of beaches lining the road for a few kilometres.
For me the 2 prettiest are the Marinella beach and the Terre Sacrée beach.
They are about 1 km apart, so you can even do both in a day.

To get there, you can take the L5 bus from Place Charles de Gaulles (less than 10 minutes’ walk from the port).

Hi Vincent,

We are going to be in Corsica for one day this summer – coming in on a cruise. We want to spend the day enjoying a beach – preferably with beautiful sand and turquoise water. We would like to stay within 40 minutes from Ajaccio. What beach do you recommend?

Good article. I hope to visit this amazing island next year l just don’t understand why Corsica does not have a strong advertising as being one of the most beautiful islands of Mediterranean Sea? I mean, you’ll see everyone traveling to Sardinia, Capri, Ibiza, Mallorca, Greek islands, but not to Corsica... Just wondering, as l could say Corsica is more beautiful than other mediterranean islands more visited...
