In Kaleiçi (Old Town)
The historic center of Antalya, or Kaleiçi, is the charming heart of the city.
This neighborhood is a maze of cobblestone streets, Ottoman-era houses, and Roman ruins, creating a truly authentic atmosphere.
It’s the best area to discover the city’s main attractions on foot.
You should stay in this district:
- For a first time stay, especially if you want to be surrounded by history and culture.
- To explore main landmarks easily, without needing to take public transport.
- If you love going out at night.
This is the perfect area to see:
- Hadrian’s Gate, the impressive triumphal arch that once served as the entrance to the old city.
- The Old Roman Harbor, now a beautiful marina filled with yachts and tour boats.
- Hıdırlık Tower, a stone tower offering great views of the sea and harbor.
- Kesik Minare (Broken Minaret), the remains of a former Roman temple and Byzantine church.
- Mermerli Beach, a small and charming city beach right next to the marina.
Where to Stay in Kaleiçi?

- Casa Sur Hotel: A beautifully designed hotel with a focus on detail. Unique rooms start from 170€, breakfast included. Strong points: lovely small pool in a serene courtyard, very stylish decor, great for a quiet and relaxing stay.
- RuinAdalia Hotel: A unique hotel built within historic ruins. Stylish double rooms from 180€, breakfast included. Strong points: adults only, unique design, outdoor pool, very romantic vibe. My favorite hotel for a romantic stay in Kaleiçi!
- Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Antalya: This 5-star hotel is located on the seafront, right next to the Old Town. Modern rooms with sea views from 250€, breakfast included. Strong points: huge outdoor pool, extensive spa facilities, amazing sea views. A perfect luxury choice if you want to be next to Kaleiçi with the facilities of a large resort.

In Lara Beach District
The Lara district, located east of the city center, is famous for its long sandy beach and luxury hotels.
This area is known as Turkey’s “Las Vegas“ due to its many themed, all-inclusive resorts.
Staying in Lara means you can enjoy a top-class beach holiday with all the comforts you could need.
You should really stay in Lara if you want:
- An all-inclusive beach holiday with everything in one place.
- To stay in a 5-star resort with massive pools and private beaches.
- A family vacation, as most hotels have water parks and kids’ clubs.
This district is perfect for discovering:
- Lara Beach, one of Antalya’s most famous sandy beaches.
- Sandland (Antalya Sand Sculpture Museum), an open-air exhibition of impressive sand sculptures.
- Lower Düden Waterfall, where the Düden River cascades directly into the Mediterranean Sea.
- Upscale shopping centers.

Konyaaltı is Antalya’s other famous beach, located on the western side of the city.
It offers a long stretch of pebble beach with a stunning backdrop of the Taurus Mountains.
You can stay in Konyaaltı:

- For a more local feel, as it’s popular with residents as well as tourists.
- If you’re active, the area has a long promenade perfect for walking and cycling.
Best things to see and do around Konyaaltı:
- Konyaaltı Beach, a 7-km long pebble beach with clear water.
- Antalya Aquarium, one of the biggest aquarium complexes in the world.
- Tünektepe Cable Car, which takes you up a hill for panoramic views of the city and coast.
- Aktur Park, a large amusement park for an evening of fun.
The Best Hotels to Stay Near Konyaaltı Beach

Where to Stay in Antalya on a Budget
If you’re traveling on a budget, here are a few great hotels for a stay in Antalya without spending too much:
- BE BOLD HOSTEL: Located in the city center, very close to the Old Town. Dorm beds start from 20€, private rooms from 55€. Strong points: modern and clean design, great social atmosphere, rooftop terrace. An excellent choice for solo travelers and those on a strict budget.
- Mai İnci Otel: Situated right in the city center, a short walk from Hadrian’s Gate. Modern and clean double rooms from 65€, breakfast included. Strong points: fantastic central location, very helpful staff, excellent value.
- Old Town Point Hotel & Spa Antalya: At the edge of the historic center. Comfortable double rooms from 85€, including breakfast. Strong points: has a small pool and spa facilities, clean rooms, great location for exploring on foot.
- Best Western Plus Khan Hotel: A well-known hotel in the heart of the city center. Double rooms start at around 95€, breakfast included. Strong points: rooftop swimming pool with panoramic city views, comfortable rooms, reliable service. A great mid-range option with excellent amenities for the price.

Where to Stay in Antalya with Family
Many of the hotels I’ve already recommended offer a lot of activities for childrens and are great for families.
Such as:
- Sealife Family Resort Hotel: Located in Konyaaltı. Family rooms are available from 220€. Strong points: private beach, water slides, full entertainment program. You should really consider this place if you’re traveling to Antalya as a family.
- Swandor Hotels & Resorts – Topkapi Palace: This 5-star all-inclusive resort in Lara is a replica of Istanbul’s famous Topkapi Palace, making it a unique and fun environment for a family holiday.
