It’s the best area to discover the city’s souks and palaces easily.

You should stay in this district:

  • For a first time stay, to be right in the middle of the action.
  • To experience sleeping in a Riad, the traditional Moroccan houses with an inner courtyard.
  • To explore monuments on foot, without needing taxis.

  • The Souks, a maze of market streets where you can buy spices, lamps, carpets, and leather goods.
  • Ben Youssef Madrasa, an old islamic college with stunning architecture and tiles.
  • Bahia Palace, a 19th-century palace with beautiful gardens and courtyards.
  • Le Jardin Secret, a restored garden complex in the middle of the old city.
