You should stay in this district if you want:

- Gothenburg Cathedral (Domkyrkan), an impressive landmark in the city center.
- The Garden Society of Gothenburg (Trädgårdsföreningen), one of Europe’s best-preserved 19th-century parks.
- Feskekörka (“Fish Church”), an indoor fish market in a church-like building.
- Stora Saluhallen, the main food market hall.

Around Avenyn (The Avenue)
Avenyn is Gothenburg’s main boulevard.
It stretches from the old town up to Götaplatsen square, home of the city’s art museum and the Poseidon statue.
This wide, tree-lined avenue is the centre of Gothenburg’s nightlife, high-end shopping, and cultural institutions.
You should really stay near Avenyn if you want:
- To enjoy nightlife and dining scene.
- To be close to major cultural attractions like museums and the concert hall.
- If you want to do some shopping.
This district is perfect for discovering:
- Götaplatsen, with the Poseidon statue, Gothenburg Museum of Art, and the City Theatre.
- Liseberg Amusement Park, Scandinavia’s largest theme park.
- Universeum, a public science center and museum.
- The Röhsska Museum of design and craft.

Haga & Linné, Gothenburg’s Trendiest Districts
Haga is Gothenburg’s oldest suburb, famous for its picturesque wooden houses and cobblestone streets.
It’s the perfect place to experience “fika” (a Swedish coffee and cake break) with a giant cinnamon bun.
Right next to it is Linné, a trendy area centered around the long street Linnégatan.
