So, where to stay in New York as a tourist?

Let’s find out!

In Midtown – Times Square Area

Midtown is the heart of Manhattan. It’s the most dynamic neighborhood in the city and a must-visit during your stay in New York. It stretches from 14th Street in the South to 59th Street, bordering the South of Central Park.

Midtown is divided into two parts:

  •  The West (Midtown West) is very lively with Times Square, the Theater District, and the new areas of Hell’s Kitchen.
  •  The East (Midtown East), quieter, with Murray Hill, Gramercy Park, and the diplomatic area around the UN.

It’s the best area to stay in New York in the city center.

I recommend this neighborhood for staying in New York:

  • If you’re looking for an animated location.
  • If you have a certain budget: Midtown being the center of the city, the prices are relatively higher.
  • If you’re seeking a central starting point with everything nearby.

The Times Square area is the ideal place to discover:

  • Top of the Rock: this observation platform offers breathtaking views of New York and its surroundings.
  • The Rockefeller Center: a commercial complex consisting of nineteen buildings, housing the city’s luxury shops. You can also go up to the terrace on top of the Rockefeller.
  • The Chrysler Building: a skyscraper with a height of 319 meters.
  • St. Patrick’s Cathedral: the main church of the city’s archdiocese, built in the 19th century in a neo-Gothic style.
  • The Empire State Building: an Art Deco skyscraper standing at 381 meters tall with 102 floors.
  • Grand Central Terminal: a New York railway station located between 42nd Street and Park Avenue.
  • Times Square: Manhattan’s busiest square with its giant screens and stores such as M&M’s Store and Disney Store.
