2. Aquaventure Waterpark

The Aquaventure Waterpark is part of the Atlantis hotel.

As one of the largest water parks in the world, Aquaventure holds the record for the most water slides in one park.

There, you will be able to experience some of the world’s best water slides and take a thrilling journey through a shark-infested tunnel!

Of course, you also have more relax options, such as letting you float on a buoy on the Lazy River or sunbath at the private beach.

And for the little ones, there’s also a kids’ club, a playground, and a games room to keep them entertained.

3. Lost Chambers Aquarium

While spending the day at Aquaventure park, you should take the opportunity to visit the Lost Chambers Aquarium, the biggest aquarium in Dubai.

Built around the legend of the Atlantis this aquarium is unlike any other: it’s designed to look like the mythical lost city!

During your visit, you will explore the underwater world of the Atlantis, the Lost Chambers Aquarium’s unique underwater maze.

This winding network of tunnels, filled with a variety of sea creatures, provides an immersive experience for visitors. You can observe a wide range of aquatic life, from colorful tropical fish to graceful stingrays, and sharks, as you make your way through the maze.

There are also plenty of interactive exhibits to discover, such as touch tanks or feeding sessions that allow you to get up close and personal with the marine life.

4. The Pointe

The Pointe is a shopping and entertainment complex located at the tip of Palm Jumeirah, just in front of the Atlantis hotel.

The first thing you will notice is that The Pointe is very different than the other malls in Dubai: It’s mostly open air and located on the sea side!

Here, you can find stores selling everything from designer clothes to souvenirs as well as has a wide range of entertainment options, such as cinemas, bowling alleys, and laser tag.

Of course, there are also plenty of restaurants and cafes with terraces on the sea side.

So take a stroll along the waterfront promenade, take some time to relax, have a drink and enjoy the stunning views over the Arabian Gulf.

5. The Palm fountain show

Located at The Pointe, The Palm Fountain Show is a must-see for travelers of all ages.

Currently the world’s largest and most advanced dancing fountain (more than 14,000 square meters!), the fountain stretches out along the waterfront, creating a stunning visual spectacle that can be seen from far.

Illuminated with 3,000 LED lights and towering at an impressive height of 105 meters, the Palm Fountain puts on spectacular shows daily from sunset to midnight.

The Palm Fountain show is free to watch, so grab a seat on one of the benches that line the waterfront and watch the show in comfort, or take a stroll along the promenade and enjoy the sights and sounds of the fountain from different angles!

6. The view at the Palm observation deck

If you are looking for a breathtaking view over Dubai, you should definitely go to “The View at The Palm” observation deck.

The observation platform “The View”, located on the 52nd floor of the building named “The Palm” offers a 360-degree panoramic view over Palm Jumeirah, the coast and the city of Dubai!

8. Boat trip to Palm Jumeirah

Another great way to discover Palma Jumeirah from another angle is to go on a boat trip!

Starting from Dubai Marina, you will enjoy amazing viewpoints over the luxury hotels of the Palm. The boat will even stop in front of the Atlantis hotel to allow you to take beautiful pictures.

9. Nakheel Mall

In addition to the Pointe, the Nakheel Mall is another great option to go shopping or eating in Palm Jumeirah.

located at the beginning of The Palm, it’s much less crowded than the other malls in Dubai such as Dubai Mall or the Mall of the Emirates.

Nevertheless, with over 300 stores and restaurants as well as a 15-screen cinema and other activities, there is plenty to keep you busy there!

If i am mentioning this shopping center in this guide of the best things to do in Palm Jumeirah, it’s also because the entrance to The View at The Palm observation deck I mentioned above is located at lvl2 of Nakheel Mall.

So there is a good chance that you will pass by during your visit to The Palm.

10. Take the Palm monorail

The Palm monorail is the most convenient way to travel on Palm Jumeirah.

You need to take the monorail at Palm Gateway, the first station and you can stop along the way at the following stations:

  • Al Ittihad park: a public park, not super interesting for tourists. However you can get down here to go to West Palm Beach
  • Nakheel Mall: you can get down at this station if you want to do a bit of shopping, go to “The View at The Palm” observation deck or the Aura Sky Pool
  • The Pointe: For a bit of shopping, to have a drink or a meal and to watch The Palm Fountain show in the evening
  • Atlantis Hotel: To go to Aquaventure Waterpark, the Lost Chambers Aquarium, do the helicopter tour and more!

11. Going to the beach at Palm Jumeirah

If you want to go to the beach at Palm Jumeirah, here are your 3 best options:

  • West Palm beach: a 1.5km stretch of sand located at the start of Palm Jumeirah. You will find numerous restaurants, private beaches and a nice view over Dubai Marina skyline. To go there, take the monorail and stop at Al Ittihad Park or Nakheel mall.
  • White Beach (previously called Nasimi Beach): The private beach of the Atlantis Hotel
  • Aquaventure Beach: The private beach of the Aquaventure Waterpark. Your entrance ticket includes access to this private beach!

Dubai Marina is a vibrant waterfront neighborhood located close to Palm Jumeirah.

With its stunning skyscrapers, world-class hotels, and luxurious yachts, Dubai Marina is a must-visit destination for travelers to Dubai!

Here are the best things to do in Dubai Marina:

  • Take a stroll along the marina promenade and the harbor:

You can admire the beautiful yachts docked in the marina, and take in the stunning views of the city’s towering skyscrapers.

The promenade is also home to a number of cafes, restaurants, and shops, so you can grab a bite to eat or do some souvenir shopping as you walk along.

You will start 170m above the ground, from the top of a building and then fly amidst buildings and over Dubai Marina at more than 70 km/h.

I really loved it, adrenaline rush guaranteed 😁!

14. Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) – “The Beach” – “The Walk”

A few minutes walk from Dubai Marina, you can go to Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR).

There, you will find one of the most famous waterfront area of Dubai, made of “The Beach” (sometimes referred to as Dubai Marina Beach) and “The Walk”, the waterfront promenade boarding “The Beach”.

This popular promenade is home to a number of restaurants, cafes, and shops, and is a great place to take in the lively atmosphere of Dubai Marina’s surroundings.

JBR Walk is also a popular spot for runners, so you can get some exercise while you’re there.

And if you prefer to relax, go to the beach, soak up the sun and enjoy the crystal-clear waters of the Persian Gulf. You can also try out water sports, such as jet ski or stand-up paddle.

15. Ain Dubai

The Ain Dubai, also known as the Dubai Eye, is a giant Ferris wheel located in Bluewaters Island resort.

It’s the world’s biggest ferris wheel, standing at a height of 250 metres!

As it’s not too far from Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina, you should really add a ride on the Ain Dubai to your itinerary. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the stunning views over the city, the Palm Jumeirah, the World Islands and other landmarks.

In my opinion, the best is to hop on the Ain Dubai around sunset time or at night, when the city is fully lit up.

How to get to Palm Jumeirah?

To get to Palm Jumeirah when coming from Downtown Dubai or any other part of the city:

  • First, take the metro and stop at DAMAAC Properties station
  • Then take the tram to Palm Jumeirah station
  • Follow the signs to reach the monorail – 5 minutes on foot
  • Take the monorail to reach your destination on Palm Jumeirah (Atlantis Hotel, The Pointe etc…) – 30 AED (round trip). There is a monorail every 15 minutes between 9:00 and 22:00.

Where to Stay in Dubai to visit Palm Jumeirah?

  • Taj Dubai: Located 800 meters from Burj Khalifa. Modern and luxurious room with bay window overlooking the city and marble bathroom starting at 220€ per night, breakfast at 32€. Strong points: The magnificent view from the roof, the Indian decoration, the large swimming pool. An excellent hotel in Dubai city center, perfect for a romantic stay!
  • Palace Downtown: Located on the lake at the foot of the Burj Khalifa, this 5-star hotel offers magnificent rooms with balcony, with an exceptional view of the Burj Khalifa. From 380€ per night, breakfast at 39€. Strong points: the exceptional location, the beautiful surroundings, the very attentive and helpful staff. This is my recommendation for a luxury stay in Downtown Dubai!

The best hotels in old Dubai (Deira and Bur Dubai)

  • Golden Sands Hotel Apartments: Located in Bur Dubai, 1.5 km from the Dubai Museum. Apartment equipped with kitchenette and washing machine, from 80€ per night, breakfast from 11€. Strong points: Cleanliness, the heated swimming pool, the comfortable apartments
  • Swissôtel Al Ghurair Dubai: Located in Deira district. Warm and spacious room from 115€, breakfast at 27€. Strong points: the pleasant staff, the view, the good breakfast. It’s my favourite in Old Dubai for its excellent value for money!
  • Hyatt Regency Creek Heights Residences: Located next to Creekside Park. Very spacious, super comfortable and very well equipped rooms starting at 130€ per night, breakfast at 33€. Strong points: 5 minutes walk from the metro, the warm welcome, the quiet location, the spa.
  • Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek: 5* hotel located in Deira bay. Double room with balcony overlooking the bay from 150€, breakfast at 29€. Strong points: The proximity of the metro and the shops, the beautiful swimming pool, the comfortable bed and the amazing view. This is my recommendation for a luxury stay in Old Dubai!
